We’re sure you’ll agree that there’s nothing quite like leafing through a beautiful cookbook full of recipes. If you’re anything like us then you’ll probably have shelves full of them at home, many earmarked, stained and scrawled over, after years of use. This love of cookbooks is what inspired us to start our very own cookbook club.

Each month we select a cookbook that we think stands out from the rest and ask our community to cook recipes from it. Today we’re launching this month’s cookbook, Planted by Chantelle Nicholson, and we’d love for you to join the conversation and show us what you can do. Simply click here to join the group.

Product we love: STONE - The Chef’s Notebook

A quick reminder, time is running out to support our friends at Stone with their Kickstarter campaign (which you can back here). If you haven’t already, please check out their innovative water and grease proof notebooks developed by a small team of Food and Drink industry professionals here in the UK.

The pages of the notebook are ingeniously made from stone paper, produced from the offcuts from limestone quarries which results in a material that’s completely immune to water and grease. Other useful features include conversion charts, lay flat design and perforated pages. Check out their Kickstarter campaign here and order Stone notebooks for your own kitchen adventures.

Cookbook update

Our recipe photoshoots continue and we’ve now shot well over half the images for the book. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the recipes as well as a behind-the-scenes look at the legendary Pierre Koffmann plating his dish!

Product we love: STONE - The Chef’s Notebook

These water and grease proof notebooks are the brainchild of UK notebook makers Bookblock and a small team of professionals from the Food and Drink industries and have caught the attention of some of the UK's best chefs. We are proud to say the idea for these notebooks was first conceived during a Great British Chefs photoshoot!

The pages of the notebook are ingeniously made from stone paper, produced from the offcuts from limestone quarries which results in a material that’s completely immune to water and grease. Other useful features include conversion charts, lay flat design and perforated pages.

Help us select the cookbook cover!
about 6 years ago – Fri, Mar 23, 2018 at 01:54:39 AM

We've had such a great response from all of our fantastic chefs that we are delighted to confirm that the Great British Chefs cookbook will contain an incredible 120 recipes from Britain's greatest chefs. We’ve been really busy in the studio and have a busy month ahead continuing to photograph the remaining dishes.

For the cover image it was important to us to pay tribute to the many chefs we work with and thus the idea of recreating the Great British Chefs logo with actual chef knives was born. We've narrowed the design for the front cover to the following two options and would love you to choose your favourite. Once we’ve heard back from your fellow backers, the most popular one will then be selected as the basis for the official front cover of the first ever Great British Chefs Cookbook.

Please click here to vote for your favourite. The deadline to vote is midnight Sunday 25 March BST.

Thank you for supporting us and if you have any questions do get in touch.

Cookbook development continues
about 6 years ago – Wed, Feb 14, 2018 at 11:30:30 PM

It’s been a busy few weeks here at Great British Chefs! We’re working hard on the design of the cookbook and making the tough decisions on which recipes will and won’t be included.

The next phase sees us head into the photography studio to ensure we get lots of stunning images. The team is busy finalising the schedule and confirming dish plating details with the chefs in time for early March, when we’ll be able to start sharing some of the behind-the-scenes action with you!

Speaking of chefs, hot off the press we can exclusively reveal the line-up of who will be featured in our chapter covering pub food and classic British cuisine. The names should look familiar as many were recommended by you, our backers.

Happy New Year!
over 6 years ago – Wed, Jan 24, 2018 at 01:08:58 AM

After celebrating our successful Kickstarter campaign in December and enjoying some time off over Christmas, we are now back to work and focused on creating a beautiful Great British Chefs cookbook for all of you to enjoy.

From now on, we will be sending out regular updates to keep you informed on how the cookbook development and production process is progressing. Keep an eye out for future updates including a first look at the cookbook cover, a list of the chefs appearing in the book, behind-the-scenes looks at recipe photoshoots, production updates and more!

This month we’ve been working hard to collate all the input we received from our backers on chefs and recipes. We’re currently finalising which chefs will have recipes in the cookbook and what those recipes will be. We have also begun testing recipes to ensure they are 100% accurate and achievable at home.

Based on your recommendations, our recipe testers have been busy re-testing the following recipes for inclusion in the cookbook:
Caesar salad croquettes by Paul Welburn
